"PMC Racing & Jim Beaver
Successful in Trophy Truck Debut"

Parker, AZ - Heading in to the opening round of the Optima SCORE Desert Racing Series held in Laughlin, Nevada, PMC Racing was titled something they had only been once in the team's 28-year history: Rookies. By just taking the green flag in the first round of Trophy Truck competition, Jim Beaver was already making history by piloting the teams #15 Ford F-250 Trophy Truck. Becoming only the 2nd youngest American to ever compete in the world's premier off road racing division, Beaver found himself in good company with NASCAR's Jimmie Johnson, his only predecessor. While this added just another point to the already impressive résumé of the young driver, PMC Racing and Beaver were both looking for something more out of the Nevada desert.

"Going into this race we already had a handicap," said Beaver. "Our new truck won't be completed until later this year, so we are running our old modified Class 8 for points until it is finished. We still knew there was a very good chance to place well, so we really just wanted to finish both days with no major problems and see where we stood."

PMC Racing followed the plan almost perfectly. Facing off against 12 of the worlds best off road racers, PMC Racing left professional motorsports opening weekend with a 6th place finish and some very valuable points towards the year end Trophy Truck Championship that will be decided at the Baja 1000 in November.

"We are very happy with our results," stated team co-owner Dan Beaver. "With the handicap of an older truck that we had, and this being both PMC Racing and Jim's first Trophy Truck event, we will take a 6th place anytime."

PMC Racing's next scheduled events will be the BITD Parker 425 in February, followed by the SCORE San Felipe 250 in March, the next Optima SCORE Desert Racing Series points event. After a successful Trophy Truck debut, PMC Racing is well on their way to achieving their season long goals: a top 5 in points, a Toyota Milestone Award, and getting Jim the very sought after SCORE Rookie of the Year.
