PMC Racing and Jim Beaver set for Mexico

Parker, AZ - Heading into the Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 to be held March 14-15, PMC Racing sits a mere 16 points out of first place in the Optima SCORE Desert Series point standings. Currently in 6th place, PMC Racing and driver Jim Beaver are leading all other rookie teams and drivers in the series that started in January at Laughlin, Nevada, and will end in November at the legendary Baja 1000.

"I am confident in the position we are in," says Jim Beaver. "I would like to leave San Felipe sitting top five in points. With our new truck still being built, I think that we are doing pretty well considering we are driving our modified class 8. I am trying to put us in a position that when we debut the new truck later this year, we will still have a shot at the points championship."

After drawing 13th off the line for the 228-mile event, a podium finish will be even tougher to come by this time around for the Parker, Arizona based team. With this being such a short race, Jim Beaver will have to fight his way through the field of 14 of the worlds best off road racers in the #15 PMC Racing/Goodyear/Ford for any chance at glory.

"We really haven't had any luck in the drawings so far this year," explained Jim. "Since we don't qualify this is the way the starting order is determined and it is 100% by chance. Sooner or later our number is bound to come up, then we'll have our chance to start up front."
