Jim Beaver is Looking to Steal
One of Desert Racing's Crown Jewels

Parker, AZ - As Jim Beaver's rookie season continues in the SCORE Trophy Truck Series, he now has set his sights on next weekends Tecate SCORE Baja 500, undeniably considered to be one of the Crown Jewels of off road racing. He heads into the race virtually in a four way deadlock for the 4th position in the points standings, with only 6 points separating 4th through 7th position.

"I am really looking forward to the race this weekend," said an enthusiastic Beaver. "I spent the entire Memorial weekend in Baja prerunning for the race, and I think the entire PMC Racing team is well prepared for the 500. There are a lot of points up for grabs, and I would like to leave the race sitting with a top 5 in the standings."

In addition to vying for this years Optima SCORE Desert Series Trophy Truck championship, Jim Beaver is also in the running for the SCORE Rookie of the Year Award. Earlier this season he also became only the second youngest American in history to compete in the SCORE Trophy Truck class, next to only NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson.

"For me to win Rookie of the Year would really be special," he said. "It has launched the careers of so many drivers in off road racing, and even sent some to places like Indy and Daytona. It would be tremendous to win, but right now I have to think about making up some points in Baja, and at this point in time, that is on the top of my things to do list."

As Jim Beaver and PMC Racing get prepared for one of the most prestigious off road races in the world, they would like to thank the following sponsors: Goodyear Tires, Ford Trucks, King Shocks, MSD Ignition, Tube Service Co., RiverInfo.com, RLH Communications, Motorcraft/Parts Mart, Kofa Inn, Penn Sign Co., and Parker Motor Co.
